The exhibition “DIMENSIONS. Digital Art since 1859” explored the relationship between art and technological development across more than 160 years. Presented at the historic Pittlerwerke in Leipzig, it brought together around 60 international artworks ranging from early photographic experiments of the 19th century to contemporary media art, immersive installations, robotics, virtual reality, and algorithmically generated art.
The exhibition demonstrated that digital art is not merely a phenomenon of the present, but part of a long history in which new technologies have continuously transformed and expanded the possibilities of artistic expression.
